Lightning Crashes.

Lightning Crashes By Live is one of my all time favorite sings. The song was released back in 1994, but i heard this song for the first time in 2004 i think. Back then i could not comprehend the beautiful message in the lyrics, but i was hooked to this song since the first time i heard it.

Ed Kowalczyk wrote this song, in which i believe he has made death look, not as frightening as it should seem. He talks about the circle of life in a way that death of one person leads to the birth of another. This has also been depicted in the video as in one frame they'd show a mother in a labor ward and in the other frame they'd show a mother dying while others helplessly watch.

The song starts out with clean guitar strumming and Ed Kowalczyk's vocals. Then along with the vocals the guitar strumming also picks up pace. The melody is so simple, as very clean and soft use of instruments is seen in the song. It is after more than half the song has passed that the song becomes even livelier when drums are added and vocals become louder and intense. The song starts of really low and progresses to a high note.

Lyrics:

lightning crashes, a new mother cries
her placenta falls to the floor
the angel opens her eyes
the confusion sets in
before the doctor can even close the door

lightning crashes, an old mother dies
her intentions fall to the floor
the angel closes her eyes
the confusion that was hers
belongs now, to the baby down the hall

oh now feel it comin' back again
like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it.

lightning crashes, a new mother cries
this moment she's been waiting for
the angel opens her eyes
pale blue colored iris,
presents the circle
and puts the glory out to hide, hide

Enjoy!
